By booking with us you agree to comply with the rules and terms and conditions stated below:

 

  • Arrivals & Departures

    Please arrive as close as possible to your booked time. Your booking includes 50 minutes in the field, so arriving early does not extend your booking time.

    Our car park operates as a one-way system. You will receive arrival instructions and your gate access code by email approximately 2 hours before your visit.

    If you arrive early, please wait in the designated waiting area and keep your dog(s) in your vehicle. Do not enter the main field car park until the previous visitors and their vehicles have left and the area is clear.

    When opening the car park gates to allow your vehicle to enter or leave, please use the chain provided to secure the gate in the open position and prevent it from swinging into your vehicle.

    Please close and securely fasten the car park and pedestrian gates behind you when entering and leaving the park. You are responsible for checking that the gates are properly secured and that your dog(s) cannot escape.

    Dogs must be kept on leads when entering and leaving the field and while moving between the car park and the field.

    Please be respectful of other users and leave the field promptly at the end of your booking. You have 50 minutes in the field, followed by the 10-minute changeover period provided for the safe arrival and departure of visitors.

  • In the Park

    Dogs must not be left unattended in the field.

    We recommend walking your dog on a lead around the perimeter of the field before letting them off lead, so that you can check the fencing, ground conditions and facilities. As the park is a rural outdoor environment, wild animals, weather and other natural events can occasionally cause damage or changes to the field or fencing. If you notice any damage, defect or anything that requires attention, please report it to us as soon as possible.

    Dog Health

    Please do not enter the park if your dog, or any dog it lives with, is unwell or has had sickness, diarrhoea, vomiting, coughing or other signs of illness within the previous 72 hours.

    All dogs, including puppies, must have vaccinations appropriate for their age and circumstances before using the field. We also recommend that worming, flea and tick treatments are kept up to date.

    Field and Facilities

    Please do not allow your dog to dig holes in the field. The only area where digging is permitted is the designated sandpit.

    A first aid kit is provided in the shed for basic first aid use by visitors and their dogs. It is provided as a courtesy and does not replace appropriate medical or veterinary treatment.

    Drinking water is provided for dogs. We recommend bringing your own suitable bowl, although clean bowls are also provided. If you use one of our bowls, please place it in the designated dirty-bowl basket after use so that it can be cleaned and sanitised before being used again.

    The burn is a natural watercourse and forms part of the park's rural environment. Please do not allow your dog to enter or drink from the burn. Children must not enter the burn and must be supervised around the water at all times. Further information about water safety is provided in the Children & Water Safety section of these Terms & Conditions.

    We carry out regular checks and maintenance of the fencing, gates, field and facilities. This includes checking and replenishing drinking water, cleaning and sanitising bowls, cleaning toys and equipment, emptying bins, maintaining the sandpit, removing weeds and debris, maintaining grassed areas, checking the burn area where necessary, cleaning the shelter and carrying out other routine maintenance.

    From time to time, we may close the park for planned maintenance, repairs, improvements or larger maintenance tasks.

    If you notice anything that is damaged, unsafe or requires attention, please report it to us as soon as possible so that we can assess it and take appropriate action.

    Other Rules

    Please do not groom your dog in the park.

    Please do not allow your dog to eat, dig in or urinate on the herbs or interfere with the scent tubes and other enrichment features.

    No naked flames, fires, smoking, BBQs or other cooking equipment are permitted in the park.

Dog Waste

You are responsible for picking up after your dog and ensuring that all dog waste is removed from the field.

Our poo policy is simple: if you see it, pick it up. This applies to dog waste left by your own dog and, where you are able to do so, any other dog waste you come across during your visit.

Where reasonably possible, we ask that you take bagged dog waste away with you when you leave the park and dispose of it appropriately. Where this is not possible, waste bins are provided within the park.

If you forget to bring poo bags, bags are provided within the park for you to use.

Additional Waste Measures

If, during your visit, you pick up dog waste that you believe is not from your dog, please let us know by messaging or WhatsApp on 07704 070127. This allows us to monitor the situation and identify any recurring issues.

If you see dog waste that you are unable or unwilling to pick up, please message or WhatsApp us with as much information as possible about its location. Where possible, please provide a photo, an indication of its location or a What3Words location.

We will arrange for reported dog waste to be removed as soon as reasonably practicable.

Please do not leave bagged dog waste beside bins, gates, fences or elsewhere in the field.

  • Children & Water Safety

    Deeside Dog Park is an unsupervised dog park and does not provide childcare or supervision of children. Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult(s) at all times.

    For safety reasons, due to the burn running through the field, a maximum of 3 children under the age of 16 may attend with one accompanying adult. This is a Deeside Dog Park safety requirement and is not intended to represent a statutory adult-to-child ratio.

    The accompanying adult must remain in the field with the children for the duration of the booking and must provide close and constant supervision. Children must not enter the burn or be permitted to play in or around the water.

    Adults must ensure that they are able to safely supervise all children in their care while also managing and controlling their dog(s). If an adult is unable to safely supervise the children and their dog(s) at the same time, they must not bring the children into the field.

    Parents, guardians and accompanying adults remain responsible for the safety and supervision of children in their party and must ensure that children follow all Deeside Dog Park safety instructions and signage.

    Water levels and conditions in the burn may vary. Where Deeside Dog Park provides additional warnings, restrictions or temporary closure instructions relating to the burn or other hazards, these must be followed.

    Deeside Dog Park accepts bookings on the basis that visitors comply with these conditions and take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of children in their care.

  • Equipment

    All equipment and facilities are used at your own discretion. Before using any equipment, you should check that it is suitable for your individual dog(s), taking into account their size, age, ability, fitness and any individual circumstances. If you consider equipment unsuitable for your dog, please do not use it.

    Care must be taken when using all equipment, particularly in changing weather and ground conditions. Equipment may become wet, slippery or otherwise affected by weather. Please check equipment before use and report any damage, defect or other safety concern to Deeside Dog Park as soon as possible.

    Please leave all equipment as you find it after use. If you notice any damage, please report it to us.

    The equipment provided in the park is intended for use by dogs only. Children and other members of your party must not climb, sit, stand or play on the dog equipment.

    Please encourage and train your dog to use the equipment safely and appropriately. Never lift or place a dog onto equipment and never force or encourage a dog to use equipment if they are unwilling, frightened or showing signs that they do not wish to do so.

    Toys and Balls

    A selection of balls and toys is provided for visitors to use. These are kept in boxes labelled Clean and Dirty.

    If you wish to use the park's toys or balls, please take items from the Clean box. After use, please place them in the Dirty box so that they can be removed, cleaned and sanitised before being made available again.

    You are responsible for assessing whether any toy or ball is suitable for your individual dog(s), including considering their size, age, chewing behaviour and play style.

    You are welcome to bring your own toys to the park, but please ensure that all personal items are taken with you when you leave.

    Any damage to Deeside Dog Park's toys or equipment should be reported to us as soon as possible. Where damage has been caused by you, your dog(s) or a member of your party, you may be responsible for the reasonable cost of repair or replacement where you are legally responsible for that damage.

Other important stuff

  • Please take all balls and toys that you bring into the field away with you.  If these have been chewed or broken, you must ensure that the field is cleaned up and these are removed. 
  • Please ensure you remove and human or dog food/treats when you leave, some other dogs that use the facilities may have specific allergies.
  • If you are inviting friend or family member it is your responsibility to ensure they have all read and agree to the T&C’s.  In the event you send somebody in place of you, you agree that you assume responsibility for their safety and ensure that they abide by the terms and conditions at all times whilst using the field.
  • Please discourage your dog from making excessive noise whilst on site.
  • No fires including BBQ's onsite.
  • No smoking onsite as this poses a fire risk.
  • You must be over 18 years of age to book the park and use the park. 
  • Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times.
  • Ensure all the dog(s) get along together before letting them off the leads.
  • Appropriate footwear should be worn; the ground is natural, soft, slippery and uneven etc.
  • The park is located in the countryside amongst wild animals & in close proximity to the main road, on occasion it may be visited closely by Highland Cattle & sheep please assess the suitability for your dog(s) needs.
  • We ask all dogs using the park have third party liability insurance/public liability insurance.  This is normally included within pet policies so please check your policy.
  • We will not be held responsible for any injury or illness contracted by any dog or person who uses our field.  You are advised to insure your dog(s) for all eventualities.
  • In the event your dog(s) present symptoms of the conditions previously listed, or any other condition or illness which can or is likely to pose a risk to the health and welfare of any other dogs, field users or staff present then you, your dog and anyone accompanying you, will be asked to leave the field immediately and no monies will be refunded. 
  • We have a natural burn(waterway) running through the park.  You are responsible for deciding whether you allow your dog(s) access to this. In parts this burn is deep depending on the size of the dog.  Please ensure children are supervised at all times.  The water runs through several fields before reaching us and it is likely it is used by livestock and wildlife.  We recommend you do not allow dog(s) to drink this water and fresh drinking water has been provided for this purpose. 
  • The maximum number of dogs in the park at any one time should not exceed 8.
  • Bookings must maintain a ratio 4:1 dogs to adult. Professionals please contact us in advance.
  • Smile you are on camera: security cameras are onsite for internal use only.  If you have any queries regarding these please get in touch. 
  • In the event of extreme weather where the conditions are not suitable for your dog due to whatever reason (heat/cold etc) please contact us and we will do our best to reschedule your appointment.  Your dog is your responsibility please be aware of its needs while using this facility.  We have natural shade, water & a shelter so please utilise these.  You can reschedule appointments up to 48 hours before so do consider this when planning your visits. 

Cancelations & Refunds

  • In the event of extreme weather conditions, we may deem it necessary to cancel your booking.  If this situation arises we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of cancellation and will endeavour to offer you an alternative date and time if available.
  • Refunds will only be given where Deeside Dog Park has had to cancel the booking.
  • Bookings are non-refundable.
  • You can reschedule your booking online up till 48 hours before your booking time.

Dangerous & Prohibited Dogs

Deeside Dog Park welcomes responsible dog owners and operates as an unsupervised dog park. All dogs attending the park must be kept under effective control at all times and owners remain responsible for their dog(s), their behaviour and any consequences arising from their attendance.

Prohibited dog types

It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that their dog is legally permitted to attend Deeside Dog Park and that all applicable laws are complied with.

Under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, as it applies in Scotland, certain dog types are prohibited. This currently includes the XL Bully type under the Dangerous Dogs (Designated Types) (Scotland) Order 2024.

An XL Bully may only be kept where the owner has a valid Certificate of Exemption and complies with all conditions attached to that exemption. In particular, an exempt XL Bully must be kept in secure conditions and, when in a public place, must be kept on a lead and muzzled. The lead must be securely held by a person aged 16 or over.

Deeside Dog Park does not determine whether an individual dog is or is not a prohibited type. Owners are responsible for establishing whether the law applies to their dog and for complying with all applicable legal requirements.

Owners of prohibited or exempt dogs must comply with any changes to legislation or official requirements that are in force at the date of their booking and visit.

XL Bully dogs and children

From 1 November 2026, Scottish law provides that a child under 12 must not be left alone with a prohibited type dog in a home or private place. An adult aged 16 or over must be present whenever a child under 12 is with an XL Bully or other prohibited type dog. This requirement applies regardless of whether the dog has a Certificate of Exemption.

Where an XL Bully or other prohibited type dog attends Deeside Dog Park with children, the owner/accompanying adult remains responsible for complying with all applicable legal requirements.

Dogs that are dangerously out of control

All dogs, regardless of breed or type, must remain under effective control while using Deeside Dog Park.

It is an offence in Scotland to allow a dog to be dangerously out of control in any place, including private premises. A dog may be considered dangerously out of control where there are grounds for reasonable apprehension that it will injure a person.

In addition, the Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010 provides for action where a dog is out of control. A dog may be considered out of control where it is not being kept under effective and consistent control and its behaviour gives rise to reasonable alarm or apprehensiveness.

Deeside Dog Park therefore reserves the right to require a dog to leave the field immediately, or to refuse or cancel a booking, where we reasonably consider that the dog cannot be safely controlled or that its behaviour presents a risk to people, children or other dogs.

This may apply regardless of the dog's breed, type, size or previous behaviour at the park.

Owner responsibility

The person booking the field is responsible for ensuring that:

  • their dog(s) are legally permitted to attend;
  • their dog(s) are appropriately controlled throughout the booking;
  • all applicable requirements relating to prohibited dogs are complied with;
  • they have disclosed any relevant behavioural or safety concerns that could reasonably affect the safe use of the field;
  • they comply with all Deeside Dog Park safety instructions and requirements.

Deeside Dog Park is an unsupervised facility and does not provide dog handling, behavioural supervision, childcare or supervision of children.

If a dog becomes aggressive, cannot be controlled, escapes its handler's control, or presents a risk to any person, child or other animal, the handler must take immediate steps to secure the dog and, where necessary, leave the field.

Deeside Dog Park reserves the right to refuse entry, terminate a booking or restrict future bookings where we reasonably consider this necessary for the safety of visitors, children, dogs, staff, contractors or the public.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Privacy and Data Protection

Deeside Dog Park will collect and use personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection law. Information provided when making a booking may be used to administer and manage your booking and may be processed by our booking and payment providers, including Squarespace/Acuity and Stripe.

Responsibility, Risk & Liability

Deeside Dog Park is a private, unsupervised dog park. Visitors are responsible for taking reasonable care of themselves, their children, their guests and their dog(s), and for complying with these Terms & Conditions, all safety instructions and any signage displayed at the park.

Responsibility of the Booking Holder

The person making the booking is responsible for their dog(s) and for all members of their party, including children and guests they bring to the park.

The booking holder must ensure that all members of their party behave responsibly and follow these Terms & Conditions and any reasonable safety instructions given by Deeside Dog Park.

Owners and handlers remain responsible for maintaining effective control of their dog(s) at all times and for taking appropriate action if a dog becomes distressed, aggressive, escapes their control or presents a risk to another person or animal.

Owners and handlers must inform Deeside Dog Park of any known behaviour or circumstance relating to their dog that could reasonably affect the safe use of the field, including any known aggression towards people or other dogs.

Risks of Using the Field

Use of the field involves risks which are inherent in a rural, outdoor environment. These may include, but are not limited to, uneven or undulating ground, holes, mud, standing water, the burn and other natural features, vegetation, changing weather conditions, gates and fencing, agility equipment, interactions between dogs, dog-to-dog conflict, dog bites or other injuries, and the actions of other visitors or animals.

Visitors are responsible for considering whether they and the members of their party are able to safely use the field and its facilities, and for following all reasonable safety instructions provided by Deeside Dog Park.

The booking holder is responsible for any loss, damage, injury or expense caused by their own actions or omissions, their failure to comply with these Terms & Conditions or reasonable safety instructions, or the actions of their dog(s) or members of their party, to the extent that they are legally responsible for that loss, damage, injury or expense.

Natural, Rural and Weather-Related Hazards

The field is a rural environment and contains natural features, including the burn, uneven ground and vegetation. Conditions may change due to weather, flooding, erosion or other natural events.

Visitors should be aware that weather conditions can change quickly and may create additional hazards, including heavy rain, flooding, snow, ice, high winds, storms, extreme temperatures and reduced visibility.

Visitors must take reasonable care and comply with any temporary warnings, restrictions or closure instructions issued by Deeside Dog Park.

Deeside Dog Park may temporarily close the field, restrict access or cancel bookings where weather or ground conditions are considered unsafe or likely to cause damage to the field or facilities.

This may include circumstances where a relevant weather warning or travel safety advice has been issued by the Met Office, Police Scotland, Traffic Scotland or another appropriate authority, or where Deeside Dog Park considers the conditions at or around the park to be unsafe.

Where reasonably practicable, Deeside Dog Park will provide notice of a cancellation by email, telephone or other contact details provided at the time of booking.

Where a booking is cancelled by Deeside Dog Park for safety reasons, we will offer an alternative date and time where reasonably available or a refund in accordance with our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Visitors should also check weather and travel conditions before setting out and should not travel to the park if they consider the journey or conditions at the park to be unsafe.

The burn is not a designated swimming or bathing area. Children must not enter the burn and must be supervised in accordance with the Children & Water Safety section of these Terms & Conditions.

Vehicles and Car Park

Vehicles are parked in the Deeside Dog Park car park at the owner's risk.

Deeside Dog Park is not responsible for loss of or damage to any vehicle or its contents while parked at the park, except to the extent that such loss or damage is caused by Deeside Dog Park's negligence or other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Visitors are responsible for driving and parking with reasonable care and for ensuring that their vehicle is securely locked and that valuables are not left unattended.

Dogs and children must not be left unattended in vehicles.

Dog Behaviour and Safety

All dogs must remain under effective control.

Owners and handlers are responsible for assessing whether their dog is suitable for use of an unsupervised dog park and for taking appropriate precautions based on the dog's behaviour, temperament and individual circumstances.

If a dog becomes aggressive, cannot be safely controlled, escapes the handler's control or presents a risk to another person, dog or animal, the handler must take immediate steps to secure the dog and, where necessary, leave the field.

Deeside Dog Park reserves the right to require a visitor and/or dog to leave the field immediately where we reasonably consider this necessary to protect the safety or welfare of people, children, dogs, other animals or property.

Damage to Property and Equipment

The booking holder is responsible for damage to Deeside Dog Park's property, equipment, fencing or facilities caused by them, their dog(s) or a member of their party, to the extent that they are legally responsible for that damage.

This includes damage to agility equipment, gates, fencing, tunnels, shelters, seating, signage and any other equipment or facilities provided by Deeside Dog Park.

Where appropriate, Deeside Dog Park may seek to recover the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing property or equipment that has been damaged.

Termination of a Booking

Deeside Dog Park may terminate a booking with immediate effect where this is reasonably necessary to protect the safety or welfare of people, children, dogs, other animals or property, including where there is dangerous or aggressive behaviour, a dog cannot be safely controlled, or these Terms & Conditions are seriously or repeatedly breached.

Any refund following termination will be dealt with in accordance with the Cancellation and Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

Statutory Rights and Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

In particular, nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence, or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory rights that apply to consumers.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
